Volunteer Thunder Bay seeks Board members

VTB is seeking a number of board members for the next three years who will serve two-year terms, with eligibility for renewal. The Board meets monthly. Board members serve in a collegial body. Directors contribute to the governance of VTB and may be involved in supporting the organization in the areas of: finance, funding, planning, nominations, or policy. Directors are in a position to make a real difference in the community through their contribution to the work of an essential association.

Board members will have the opportunity to participate in interesting challenges and learning experiences, due to the general nature of our mission. Directors share friendship, enjoyment, and recognition, while having the opportunity to use their talents to serve our community.

 Qualifications

Excellent strategic and analytical thinking skills combined with a practical and pragmatic mindset and a strong interest in serving the public sector.

A team player with personal impact and superior communication skills, able to work effectively with a broadly-based peer group and capable of representing VTB effectively externally.

Volunteer Coordinator Position

Thunder Bay will be hosting the 2010 World Junior Baseball Championships and the Thunder Bay International Baseball Association (TBIBA) is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to develop and implement a successful program for volunteers, tournament participants and spectators.

This is a full time, 22 week contract, 30 hours per week that will commence in March 2010 and extend 3-5 days after the event for decommissioning.  It is anticipated that actual hours of work may increase leading up to and during the event.

 Rate of Pay: $14 to $18 per hour depending on experience
